Ever wish you could grow passion fruit in your backyard? Maypop (passiflora incarnata) is related to passion fruit and produces tart-juicy fruit in late summer, fall. Maypop is cold hardy down to -25°F and native to the southeastern US. Produces an abundance of bright purple flowers that are out of this world in May which continue throughout the season. It is also a fantastic addition to a butterfly garden as it is a host plant to several species. This plant will reach a height of 20’+ per growing season, so make sure to give it plenty of room!
