The Maypop, scientifically known as Passiflora incarnata, is a delightful and vigorous climbing vine that graces any garden with its intricate purple and white flowers from mid-summer to early fall in USDA hardiness zones 5-9. This North American native is not only admired for its ornamental value but also produces edible fruit and serves as an important host plant for various butterfly species.

What makes Maypop unique?
The Maypop is renowned for its fast growth and the ability to quickly cover trellises or fences, creating a lush vertical display. Its exotic-looking flowers are mesmerizing and have a light, pleasant fragrance, making it a dual sensory delight.

Listing is for two (2) Maypop plants, sold bare-root and carefully wrapped to ensure they arrive at your doorstep in prime condition for planting. Maypop roots may or may not have a stem and leaves due to dormancy.

Planting Instructions:
Select a sunny spot with well-drained soil and provide a support structure for climbing, such as a trellis or fence. Dig holes that are at least 18 inches apart and just as deep as the roots. Place each plant in a hole, spread the roots gently, and fill with soil. Water well to establish the roots and consider adding a layer of mulch to help retain soil moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Please note: We hold a nursery license and are able to ship live, bare-root plants to all states except CA and OR
